The 2010-2011 season was the first year in which LeBron James played for the Miami Heat, following his much-publicized decision to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers in free agency. James played in all 79 games for the Heat, averaging 26.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game while shooting 51.0% from the field. He was named to the All-NBA First Team for the fourth consecutive year and finished third in MVP voting.

The Heat finished the regular season with a record of 58-24, the second-best in the Eastern Conference. In the playoffs, James and the Heat struggled in the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks, ultimately losing in six games despite being heavy favorites. James was heavily criticized for his poor performance in the series, prompting him to famously acknowledge his “haters” in a post-game press conference.

Off the court, James continued to be active in his philanthropic work. He established the LeBron James Family Foundation’s “I Promise” program, which focuses on helping Akron-area students achieve academic success, and also supported some other charitable causes.

In summary, LeBron James’s 2011 NBA season was marked by both individual success and team disappointment. He was an All-NBA First Team selection and one of the league’s most dynamic players, but his Miami Heat suffered a surprising defeat in the NBA Finals, with James struggling in key moments. Nonetheless, James continued his charitable work and remained one of the game’s most visible and influential figureheads.
